Long ago I had a premonition- that I would one day end up a crooning Vegas lounge lizard~~ then one sunny summer day my alter-ego Freddy Shure appeared.
Here is my 2023 collection of classic Crooner & Swing tunes. Songs made popular by such great vocalists as: Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, and Tom Jones. I had great fun singing & recording these numbers!
When I was a kid my home was filled with the sounds of various swingers, crooners and ratpack types. These LP records were spun by my mother, who had a rather good singing voice herself. She was always singing along, and this of course inspired me to join in. These crooners had style, charisma, chicks (dames) and smoked & drank! And those big bands with powerful horns & very present drumming- Sheer Inspiration!
Like my father, I started playing accordion at age 5, but was soon corrupt by Rock & Roll. By age 10 I was playing guitar, drums, and of course singing. I was fortunate to be brought up in a musically supportive environment. As it turns out Music is a major part of my life, and perhaps my premonition has come full circle, to it's fruition. Swing it- Guy's & Dolls!
